Accommodation and food
The Adventure School is based on the shore of Loch A Chadh-Fi, just yards from the water‘s edge. It is beautifully remote and secluded, accessed on foot only (save for our 4x4 that can travel along the shore at low tide bringing bags and luggage to the door).
A Norwegian style wooden long building houses a spacious sitting and dinning area with a wood burning stove, bathrooms with showers and a number of bedrooms of varying sizes, all with their own wash-hand basin. For bespoke courses we would accommodate only your group which could be up to 20 people.
A number of other wooden cabins are home to our cook and instructors and we have an efficient drying room for kit and equipment.
Depending on the nature of your bespoke course we offer delicious home cooked food freshly made each day, making use of local and seasonal fare such including Loch Duart salmon, farmed in neighbouring Loch Laxford. Cooked breakfasts, packed lunches, afternoon tea and three-course dinners are provided when based at the Adventure School.
We don‘t have an alcohol license but guests are welcome to bring their own supplies and we are very happy to talk through menu ideas to suit your group‘s requirements.
We operate an off-grid power supply at the Adventure School and our water is sourced and filtered from a hill loch. Bottled gas ensures copious hot water after days in the hills or on the sea.
Reliable mobile phone reception can be gained with a short walk from the Adventure School with GPRS on most networks but as yet no 3G or 4G. Important or emergency web-only communications can be made through our office on the far side of the sea loch at Ardmore where we have a satellite broadband connection.
‘The accommodation and housekeeping were just right – and the food utterly wonderful’
