Blue skies on beach day
Thursday May 23rd 2013
...more about Wednesday
Beach day is a chance to relax and reflect after Survival Island. The overnight grey skies had cleared by the time we set off for Oldshoremore.
Beach cricket, volleyball, touch rugby, tug ‘o’ war and splashing around in tidal pools was the order of the day, mostly accompanied by blue skies (and one rather dramatic downpour between the sunshine).
The Red teams (the ‘Snapper’ and the ‘Bulls’) have been competing at the climbing crag against the Blue teams (the ‘Bottles’ and the ‘Nuns’) and the competition continued on the Beach today, with the Reds just edging the Blues out by 2 to 1.
With stronger winds forecast for Thursday, we plan to walk the teams around to the croft houses at Ardmore, on the far side of the sea loch, to see the 1966 Atlantic Rowing boat and Rebecca’s Cape Horn sea kayak, and to check the catch in the lobster creels.
This will be the last news page post before the school set off for home on Friday morning.
