Beach day brings the week of adventure to an end

A great effort by the Brambletye team

Friday June 21st 2013

Its hard to believe that the team only arrived on Monday afternoon.

Since then we have been swimming in the sea loch, learned survival skills, sea kayaked around A Chadh-Fi Island, baited lobster creels, wild camped at the foot of the mountain, climbed the mountain and scrambled along its rocky ridge. We've competed in a four stage event before breakfast, been for morning runs, rock climbed and abseiled on an ancient rocky outcrop, took boats across to loch to pull up our creels, see lobsters, starfish, crabs and whelks, meet Rebecca's father John and hear the story of his Atlantic voyage, survived overnight on an uninhabited island and chill out on a golden sandy beach.

The team have risen to the challenges and grown together over the week. They are now also proficient sandwich makers, drier uppers, table layers and floor moppers. Above all they have taken it all in their stride, dealt with the good weather days and the bad weather days with the same cheery approach. Its been a pleasure to have them here and we wish them all the best for their final few weeks at Brambletye.
