Wild camp during a kayaking phase out on the remote Ceathramh Garbh peninsula
10 Day Young Leaders Summer Camp 2014
Young leaders camp comes to a close
Great team of young people make the most of the experience
Wednesday August 20th 2014
Well done team! Its been a hectic 10 days, a bit of chopping and changing around the tail end of Hurricane Bertha and a belt of strong winds again mid course, but the young people have really risen to the challenge of leading themselves 'into the unknown'.
Its been great for us to observe them from a distance over these last few days, working well as a team together, and leading their peers in this environment, making good decisions and judgements throughout and accepting each others position.
We've spent more time along the coast and out on the remote Ardmore and Ceathramh Garbh peninsulas than in the high mountains, and a good amount of time on some fairly choppy seas, but have seen the best that this wild landscape has to offer - and explored it by a number of means... both wet and dry.
Its been good to watch these eight young people, all of whom we know from previous courses here, as they have grown and developed as young people, from the first courses they came on (some over three years ago) and we wish them well for their future plans.
