Survivors return from the island

Blue skies for beach day!

Saturday May 2nd 2015

It is beautiful weather here now in the far north-west. The pupils left the island at 7am this morning, the sea loch was like a mirror and early morning haze made the mountains beyond seem magical.

Reports suggest great teamwork on the island, with the Class 7 pupils forming one camp together, sharing the tasks of lighting the fire, building the shelters and cooking; and reaping the benefits of their hard work and commitment this week. It is great to see a group who get on so well together enjoying this shared experience.

It is off to the beach now for a chance to relax and reflect on their achievements, and to settle the Olimpets competition with tug of war on the golden sands of Oldshoremore.

Haggis, neaps and tatties for dinner tonight, followed by a bit of a ceilidh!
