Getting ready to depart for Survival Island
6 day Summer Camp
Survival Island on a perfect night
Thursday August 11th 2016
And so the team survived survival island admirably. We brought this forward a night to make the most of best weather, clear skies and cool conditions with a gentle breeze kept midges away and no rain fell.
Yesterday saw sea kayaking, creeling and visiting Ardmore to see the Atlantic rowing boat that John Ridgway rowed across the Atlantic 50 years ago this summer, the kayak that Rebecca paddled around Cape Horn and English Rose VI, 57 foot ketch, that has circumnavigated the world 3 times.
Today, raft building and raft racing amongst other fun activities. The rain and drizzle seems not to dampen spirits and everyone is in great form this evening, ready for their talent show.
There are different departure times tomorrow morning with earlier flights and afternoon flights. The coach will be at Inverness airport by 1230, dropping off those who will take the train first.
We have enjoyed having your children with us, a really fun and spirited team, who have not been deterred by wind or rain.
More photos will be posted on Facebook tomorrow....
