Blue Fin Tuna team on the summit of Ben Stack
Twyford Team
Ben Stack summited in perfect weather
and the week draws to a close
Thursday August 25th 2016
We finished the week today with an ascent of Ben Stack. It forms an iconic image looming up at the eastern end of Loch Laxford, the archetypal mountain shape, and a backdrop to most of the places the kids have spent their time at during the week.
The weather could hardly have been better, sunny with a good breeze to keep us cool. The four teams set off separately for the summit, arriving there at about midday to be rewarded with stunning views out over the west coast. Tinker (dog) and I took the Blue Fin Tuna team (pictured above) to the summit with some great chat along the way.
Most of our seasonal staff team finish their season tomorrow as the Twyford team depart and we couldn’t have asked for a better group to finish their season with. Really enthusiastic, polite and brilliantly behaved in the absence of both teachers and parents. They have lapped up everything that we have thrown at them and apart for midges in the calm of early morning and late evening, they have had great conditions.
Its been great fun spending the week with you, safe travels home tomorrow.
The final tranche of photos have just been uploaded to the facebook album.
