Busy days and blue skies

Sunday July 23rd 2017

We have twenty eight enthusiastic young people here with us at Ardmore for this year’s 14 Day Expedition Summer Camp. They arrived yesterday into Inverness on a number of different flights from the UK and abroad and came up with us to Ardmore in two separate runs. The first team were with us in time for a swim and introduction to the Adventure School and the second arrived shortly before dinner. After dinner and split into four teams (the Reds, Blues, Yellows and Greens) we walked together to a high point above the Adventure School where we can get a 360-degree view of all the places that we will explore together over the next two weeks.

Today, after a morning run or swim and under blue skies and warm sunshine, the teams have been rock climbing and abseiling and preparing their expedition kit and rucksacks ready for the mountain expedition which will start after dinner this evening. The teams will head into the mountains for a couple of hours and establish a wild camp, from which they will attempt the summits of Arkle or Foinaven tomorrow, wild camping again tomorrow night and returning to the Adventure School on Tuesday.

We will update the news page again when we return from the mountains on Tuesday and post a few pictures on our facebook page then too.
