Heading for survival island yesterday evening
Team do really well on survival island
Thursday August 29th 2019
Mark picked the boys and girls up from survival island at 7am this morning. They had found their kit drop on the rocks near the Bay of Lime and used a superb grassy terrace on the southern tip of the island to establish their camp. As the stories emerged on the boat journey home it would appear that the mackerel they had caught the previous day was cooked (and tasted) better than the potato they had found in the kit drop.
A good fire was established, no easy task after the distinctly autumnal showers that had blown through on the wind earlier in the afternoon.
Before heading to the island yesterday the team had built a raft from mussel farm barrels and wooden spars, racing it on the sea loch, and had rock climbed and abseiled on the hillside above the Adventure School.
The team are on the beach at Oldshoremore today, swimming, body boarding and playing beach games together with Rich and Tim. Sunny spells today with showers later and the team are full of beans and in great spirits.
They head home tomorrow ready to start school at Craigclowan next week. They have been a real pleasure to spend time with and have been up for everything. A great bunch!
