Some of the Cape Wrath expedtion team en route
14 day summer camp and Bontoux's
Three days in the wilderness!
The boys and girls of the 14 day camp return, happy but tired after an awesome effort on the expedition to Cape Wrath
Thursday August 4th 2011
Walking in the beautiful wilderness for three days, two nights wild camping under the stars, heavy rucsacs carried, challenges faced by all. The final expedition is the culmination of everything that the team have experienced here over the last two weeks. New groups of friends from all over Europe and beyond, travelling over 40km across some of the most remote terrain in the whole of Britain, to the lighthouse at Cape Wrath.
The weather has been kind yet again and the group had near perfect conditions for their expedition. Both teams reached the Kyle of Durness from the lighthouse by different routes and returned to the Adventure School this morning, happy to have completed the expedition, if a little tired. Most took a final chance to swim in the sea loch, enjoying jumps and dives from the raft together.
Our team of instructors have given nothing but good reports of the team spirit and individual efforts of all of the young people on the course. They have been a pleasure to work with and we have enjoyed getting to know them all.
We have a slideshow of all the pictures and a Ceilidh (traditional Scottish folk dancing) this evening before the team head off tomorrow.
